Medical Disposables Supplier in the UAE

WinHyCare is headquartered in Dubai and runs a warehouse in Ras Al Khor, so UAE buyers of medical supplies and consumables can order face masks, hair nets, vinyl, TPE and PE gloves, shoe covers, scrub suits, aprons and gowns for dispatch within the country or direct shipment from India. Medical devices in the UAE are regulated federally by the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE); marketing authorisation is held by an EDE-licensed warehouse or marketing office, not by the overseas supplier.

Who regulates medical disposables in the UAE

Since 29 September 2023 the Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has been the federal body responsible for regulating medical and pharmaceutical products in the UAE, including medical devices. Marketing-authorisation services that used to sit with the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) were transferred to EDE, with the handover of the core services announced as effective from 29 December 2025.

EDE's service for registering a medical device so that it can be imported and traded in the UAE sets out who may apply: only an EDE-licensed pharmaceutical or medical warehouse, a local manufacturer or a marketing office with a valid licence. Both the marketing-authorisation holder and the manufacturer must be registered with EDE first, devices are grouped into Classes I to IV, the supporting file includes a Certificate of Free Sale from the country of origin attested by the UAE embassy, and the authorisation is valid for five years. A wholesaler normally also needs a Medical Warehouse Licence.

In practice this means the registration sits with your UAE company, not with an exporter. Whether a particular mask, glove or gown is treated as a medical device, and in which class, should be confirmed with EDE through your warehouse before the first order. We send the product documentation your regulatory team needs to make that call.

Food businesses buy under food-safety rules

Hair nets, bouffant caps, disposable gloves and aprons are bought by kitchens, hotels, caterers and food factories as well as by hospitals, and for food businesses the requirements come from food-safety regulation. Dubai Municipality's Food Code requires anyone handling food or entering a food preparation or storage area to cover their hair with a clean hat or hair net, and says that where gloves are used for food, only disposable gloves may be used, for one task only, and discarded when damaged or soiled.

In Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) requires every food handler in the emirate to complete its Essential Food Safety Training programme. For these buyers the purchasing questions are practical: mesh size and colour of the hair net, glove material for the food type, and carton counts that match daily usage. Items sold for both clinical and food use should have their classification confirmed by the importer.

Two sea gateways and an overland route to Saudi Arabia

Jebel Ali Port handled 15.5 million TEU in 2024, with 19.4 million TEU of capacity across four terminals, and the adjoining Jebel Ali Free Zone hosts more than 11,000 companies. In Abu Dhabi, AD Ports Group reported 7.7 million TEU of container throughput for 2025 across its ports, with Khalifa Port as its main container gateway.

The GCC Customs Union, in force since 1 January 2003, applies a 5% common external tariff to goods from outside the union and collects it at a single point of entry. For buyers distributing onward to Saudi Arabia, Al Ghuwaifat is the UAE's land border crossing with the Kingdom; Abu Dhabi Customs runs pre-arrival declarations there linked to Saudi Arabia's Fasah platform. Medical-device rules are not harmonised in the same way, so Saudi registration is still needed for goods sold into the Kingdom.

How we supply UAE

WinHyCare's headquarters is in Oud Mehta, Dubai, and our warehouse is in Industrial Area 2, Ras Al Khor, Dubai. UAE orders are dispatched from the warehouse or shipped direct from India, depending on the item and volume; availability is confirmed at quotation.

We do not hold EDE marketing authorisations. Where a product is regulated as a medical device, the authorisation must be held by an EDE-licensed warehouse or marketing office. We supply the documents they file (spec sheets, certificates of analysis and declarations of the ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 quality standards the goods are supplied to) and tell you upfront which documents we cannot provide for a given item.

Medical disposables in UAE: FAQ

Is WinHyCare based in the UAE?

Yes. Our global headquarters is in Oud Mehta, Dubai, and our warehouse is in Industrial Area 2, Ras Al Khor, Dubai. We also have an India office in Hyderabad.

Who registers medical disposables in the UAE?

The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) issues marketing authorisations for medical devices. Only an EDE-licensed warehouse, local manufacturer or marketing office can apply, so the authorisation is held by your UAE company. We do not hold EDE registrations ourselves; we provide the product documentation for the file.

Did MOHAP stop registering medical products?

MOHAP announced the transfer of marketing-authorisation and related services for medical products to EDE, effective 29 December 2025. Check EDE's service pages for the current application route.

Do hair nets and food gloves need EDE registration?

Food-hygiene items bought by kitchens and food plants are governed by food-safety rules such as the Dubai Municipality Food Code. If an item is also marketed for clinical use, confirm its classification with EDE through your importer.

Can you ship to other GCC countries from Dubai?

Yes. We ship from Dubai or India to buyers in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait. The importer in each country handles local registration and clearance.

What do you need for a UAE quote?

Product, size, GSM or film weight, colour, sterile or non-sterile, carton quantity and delivery emirate. We reply with pricing, pack configuration and documents.
