What is a disposable PE apron?
A disposable PE apron is a single-use apron cut from polyethylene film that covers the front of the body from chest to below the knee. Its job is simple but important: to keep blood, fluids, food residue, water and cleaning chemicals off the wearer's uniform or clothing during wet and messy work, and to be thrown away afterwards so nothing is carried from one task — or one patient — to the next. Because PE film is fully impervious, the apron is genuinely waterproof rather than merely splash-resistant.

Material and waterproof performance
The apron is made from polyethylene film at roughly 8.5 g (±2 g) per piece. PE is a soft, flexible plastic that is completely impervious to liquid, so water, body fluids, food juices, oils and cleaning solutions run off the surface rather than soaking through to the clothing beneath. Unlike absorbent fabrics, it cannot wick or hold contamination, which is exactly what is needed in food handling, clinical care and chemical cleaning.
The film is latex-free, avoiding protein-allergy concerns, and is soft enough to move with the wearer without cracking. The two sizes let a facility match the coverage to the task — 70×110 cm for general nursing and catering, and the larger 80×125 cm where staff need protection lower down the leg, such as in food-processing or abattoir work.
Fit, style and dispensing
Each apron has a neck loop and two integral waist ties. The loop drops over the head and the ties wrap to the back and knot, so the apron can be donned and removed quickly between tasks without fasteners or assistance — important where staff change aprons many times a day for hygiene. The lightweight film folds compactly, so flat-packed aprons take little storage space.
For high-frequency use, the aprons can be supplied on a roll, perforated for tear-off one at a time from a wall or counter dispenser, which keeps the remaining aprons clean and speeds up changeovers on a busy line. Flat-pack bags suit clinical store cupboards and lower-volume points of use.
Packaging and bulk supply
PE aprons are supplied flat-packed at 100 pieces per bag with 10 bags per carton, or 50 pieces per bag with 10 bags per carton, and can also be supplied on a roll for dispenser feeding. Colour, size and pack format can be specified to suit the application and the dispensing method.
