Medical Disposables Supplier for Oman

WinHyCare ships 3-ply masks, hair nets, aprons, PE and vinyl gloves, isolation gowns, scrub suits and bed sheets to Omani distributors from India and our Dubai warehouse. Oman is tightening medical-device import control: from 22 October 2026, imported medical devices are not cleared unless the establishment clearing the shipment is approved by the Ministry of Health's Medical Devices Control Department. Container cargo for Muscat comes through Sohar, not the old Port Sultan Qaboos.

The 22 October 2026 clearance deadline

Medical devices in Oman are regulated by the Ministry of Health through the Drug Safety Center and its Medical Device Control Department, under Ministerial Decision 113/2020. A 2026 circular gave importers a six-month window, ending on 22 October 2026, to get their establishments approved. As Al Tamimi & Co summarised it on 5 October 2026: from 22 October, clearance procedures will not be completed unless the establishment clearing the incoming shipment is approved by the Medical Devices Control Department. Companies first register their facility on the Ministry's portal.

Registration of the products themselves is moving in stages. MOH Circular 161/2025 stopped the release of high-risk device shipments without registration from 1 July 2026. The Ministry's GD-22 guideline (November 2025) sets out manufacturer registration: a foreign manufacturer needs an Omani authorised representative holding a valid commercial registration, and the manufacturer file includes a quality-management certificate such as ISO 13485 and a commercial agency certificate.

If you import disposables into Oman, check now that your establishment is approved and that each product line has the documents GD-22 calls for. Ask us early which manufacturer documentation is available for the items you plan to order, so there are no surprises at clearance.

Where demand comes from

The Ministry of Health is the main healthcare provider. At the end of 2023 it operated 265 institutions: 50 hospitals with 5,024 beds, 21 health complexes and 194 health centres, and it performed more than 86,000 surgeries that year. National statistics show 98 government and private hospitals in Oman in 2025, up from 94 in 2024.

That network buys the standard ward and outpatient list (masks, examination gloves, isolation gowns, bed sheets and patient gowns), and theatre lines for surgery. Hospital kitchens and food businesses add hair nets, aprons and food-service gloves.

Sohar, Salalah and Duqm

Muscat's Port Sultan Qaboos stopped receiving container and general cargo vessels on 31 August 2014, when cargo was moved to Sohar so that the Muscat port could become a tourism port. Sohar is now the main container gateway for northern Oman: it handled 545,000 TEU in the first half of 2026, up 40%, with leased free-zone warehousing up 19%.

In the south, Salalah's container terminal handled 4.3 million TEU in 2025. Duqm, in the Special Economic Zone, is a 50-50 joint venture between ASYAD Group and the Antwerp Port Consortium. For disposables bound for Muscat and the Batinah coast, Sohar is the practical sea entry; goods held in the UAE can also move overland.

How we supply Oman

We have no office or stock in Oman. Orders ship from India or from our warehouse in Ras Al Khor, Dubai, to your Omani company, which must be approved by the Medical Devices Control Department to clear medical devices from 22 October 2026, and which acts as authorised representative where product registration is required.

We do not hold Omani registrations or approvals. We supply spec sheets, certificates of analysis and declarations of the ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 quality standards the goods are supplied to, and we will tell you before you order which manufacturer documents we can provide for each item.
