What is a disposable stretcher cover?
A disposable stretcher cover is a reinforced single-use sheet, fitted with carrying handles, that is laid on a stretcher or trolley both to keep the surface hygienic and to act as a transfer aid for lifting and moving a patient. The patient lies on the cover, and staff use the side handles to lift, slide and lower the patient between bed, stretcher, trolley and treatment surface — then the cover is discarded after use, removing the laundering and cross-contamination risk of a reusable sheet.
