What are PE sleeve covers?
A PE sleeve cover — also called a waterproof arm cover or oversleeve — is a single-use tube of polyethylene film slipped over the forearm to keep the wearer's sleeves and skin dry during wet, splashy work. Where a non-woven sleeve cover is breathable but only splash-resistant, a PE cover is fully impervious, so it is the right tool whenever the task involves running water, fluids or wet produce. It is worn once and discarded, keeping cuffs dry and breaking cross-contamination between wet tasks.
WinHyCare PE sleeve covers have elastic sewn into both ends, gripping the wrist at one end and the upper arm at the other so the cover stays sealed and in place during reaching, dipping and handling. Because PE film cannot absorb liquid, water and fluids bead and run off the surface rather than soaking through to the arm.
Material and waterproof performance
The cover is made from polyethylene film at around 2.5 to 3 g per piece. PE is completely impervious to liquid, so water, brine, blood, fish and meat juices, washing-up water and cleaning solutions cannot pass through. This makes the PE sleeve cover the correct choice for any genuinely wet task — exactly where a breathable non-woven cover would wet through. The film is latex-free, avoiding protein-allergy concerns.
The three weights — 2.5, 2.8 and 3 g — let a facility trade economy against robustness: the lightest is the most cost-effective for short wet tasks, while 3 g resists snagging and pin-holing during heavier handling. Sizes run from 40×22 cm to 40×25 cm and can be made to other dimensions as required.
Fit, sealing and use
The double-elastic design is essential for wet work: with elastic at both the wrist and the upper end, the cover seals tightly against the arm so water cannot run down inside the sleeve when the hands are lowered into a sink, tank or wash line. The fit is universal — the elastic stretches over a wide range of arm sizes — so one stock size serves the whole team, and the cover stays put rather than creeping down during repetitive dipping and reaching.
PE sleeve covers are usually worn in pairs, often together with a PE apron and gloves, and changed when contaminated or between zones. The smooth film also wipes down and resists adhesion of residue, which helps where the same wearer moves between wet handling steps.
